Historic Riley School Property Sold by Community Schools of Frankfort to Frankfort Alumnus

FRANKFORT, Ind. – The Community Schools of Frankfort (CSF) has sold the historic Riley Elementary School & Rohrabaugh Field property located at 303 S. Williams St., to Frankfort alumnus Kelly Good on Friday, May 14, 2021, for $312,500 – above the listing price of $250,000. The approximately 7-acre site, which includes both the area of Riley School and Rohrabaugh Field, sold after being on the market for just over one week with Dave Rodkey of Dave Rodkey Realtors.

According to a press release issued by CSF, Mr. Good, owner of KJG Architecture in West Lafayette, plans to develop single-family homes on the property that will blend in aesthetically with the existing neighborhood. Having grown up only a few blocks from the site, Mr. Good knows the neighborhood well. In communicating with CSF Superintendent Joel McKinney, Mr. Good expressed a deep appreciation and love for the Frankfort community. He is eager to develop the site into something that will bring more families into this great city.

The KJG Architecture website states: “Kelly founded KJG Architecture in 1997 and has served as the President and Senior Architect since the firm’s inception. After graduating from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, he developed an extensive background in the field with decades of experience at several design firms. His portfolio includes education, municipal, commercial, retail, religious, multi-family, industrial, and dozens of multi-use building designs.”

KJG Architecture is currently leading the project to build the first-ever dedicated building for the Frankfort Police Department. Previously, KJG Architecture lead the design of the Frankfort High School remodel and expansion and CSF Superintendent building.

“The school board is glad to see that the former Riley School property will someday be homes to future students,” added Superintendent McKinney.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced today, Thursday, May 13, 2021, Clinton County had 1 new resident who tested positive for COVID-19, 4,279 residents in total have tested positive for COVID-19. There are 53 deaths related to COVID-19 in Clinton County. At least 63,383 total tests have been administered to residents of Clinton County, of which 19,168 have been unique tests as reported by the ISDH.

The rolling 7-day positivity rate of unique individuals for Clinton County is 4.0% as of May 6, 2021. The State of Indiana as a whole is 12.7%.

The rolling 7-day positivity rate of all tests for Clinton County is 2.3% as of May 6, 2021. The State of Indiana as a whole is 5.3%.

The ISDH shows a total of 10,227 Clinton County residents have received the first of a two-dose vaccination series (an increase of 45 over the previous day) and 9,415 are fully vaccinated (an increase of 169 over the previous day) with 519 Clinton County residents receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a single-dose vaccine. Statewide, 2,470,237 Hoosiers have received the first of a two-dose vaccination series, 2,226,615 are fully vaccinated with 165,743 from the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as of 5/13/2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Additionally, the ISDH announced that 900 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and private laboratories. That brings to 732,692 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

Community Schools of Frankfort Employees to Receive $1000 Bonus

FRANKFORT, Ind. – At the May 11, 2021, meeting of the Community Schools of Frankfort (CSF) Board of Trustees held at the CSF Administration Building, the Board unanimously approved additional compensation to all school employees who worked this past academic year through the COVID-19 pandemic. Every teacher and staff member will receive a $1,000 pandemic bonus check.

In a signed resolution from the Board of School Trustees, the resolution recognized “CSF faculty and staff assumed additional responsibilities, worked outside contracted hours, and unequivocally went above and beyond expectations.”

The stipend is anticipated to come from funds received from the Elementary and Secondary Education Relief, or ESSER III; directly associated with President Biden’s American Rescue Plan enacted this past spring.

The Community Schools of Frankfort have been meeting in person every day this school year as the result of the implementation of the Safe Return to School Plan formulated last summer by CSF Superintendent Joel McKinney and a team of staff members, the elementary schools (Blue Ridge, Green Meadows, and Suncrest) never had to close their doors due to the impact of COVID-19. However, the Frankfort High School and Frankfort Middle School did briefly transitioned to e-learning.

The 2021-22 Safe Return to School plan is currently being developed and expected to be announced in early summer.

Mr. McKinney told employees in an email announcing the stipend, “Our Board members have been extremely thankful and proud of the work our schools have done this year to get through the pandemic in such an amazing way. Whether you were teaching or supporting the teaching of students in-person or virtually, your work has truly made a difference for our kids this year.”

There are 53 deaths related to COVID-19 in Clinton County. At least 63,279 total tests have been administered to residents of Clinton County, of which 19,169 have been unique tests as reported by the ISDH.

The rolling 7-day positivity rate of unique individuals for Clinton County is 8.0% as of May 5, 2021. The State of Indiana as a whole is 13.4%.

The rolling 7-day positivity rate of all tests for Clinton County is 2.6% as of May 5, 2021. The State of Indiana as a whole is 5.3%.

The weekly ISDH County Metrics score released today showed Clinton County with a score of 0.5 an advisory color of Blue. Clinton County’s official advisory level is Blue.

Clinton County had 46 new cases per 100,000 residents – a score of 1 – and a 7-day positivity rate of 3.21% – a score of 0. The ISDH utilized the results of 5/10/2021, 11:59 p.m. for the purpose of calculating the weekly County Metrics.

The ISDH shows a total of 10,184 Clinton County residents have received the first of a two-dose vaccination series (an increase of 34 over the previous day) and 9,247 are fully vaccinated (an increase of 195 over the previous day) with 515 Clinton County residents receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a single-dose vaccine. Statewide, 2,461,137 Hoosiers have received the first of a two-dose vaccination series, 2,196,206 are fully vaccinated with 164,822 from the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as of 5/11/2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Additionally, the ISDH announced that 852 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and private laboratories. The ISDH shows a total of 10,021 Clinton County residents have received the first of a two-dose vaccination series (an increase of 47 over the previous day) and 8,615 are fully vaccinated (an increase of 254 over the previous day) with 453 Clinton County residents receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a single-dose vaccine. Statewide, 2,406,936 Hoosiers have received the first of a two-dose vaccination series, 2,046,082 are fully vaccinated with 153,062 from the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as of 5/6/2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Additionally, the ISDH announced that 1,261 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and private laboratories. That brings to 726,600 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

To date, 3,407,170 unique tests have been administrated on Hoosiers and reported to ISDH, up from 3,401,725 on Wednesday.

The Regenstrief Institute released updated hospitalization data as of May 4, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. for Clinton County. Data are unique individuals and cumulative.

Update (5/5/21): 3 New Clinton County Residents Tested Positive For COVID-19 As Reported By The ISDH

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced today, Wednesday, May 5, 2021, Clinton County had 3 new residents who tested positive for COVID-19, 4,266 residents in total have tested positive for COVID-19. There are 53 deaths related to COVID-19 in Clinton County. At least 62,132 total tests have been administered to residents of Clinton County, of which 19,041 have been unique tests as reported by the ISDH.

The rolling 7-day positivity rate of unique individuals for Clinton County is 9.1% as of April 28, 2021. The State of Indiana as a whole is 13.3%.

The rolling 7-day positivity rate of all tests for Clinton County is 2.7% as of April 28, 2021. The State of Indiana as a whole is 4.8%.

The weekly ISDH County Metrics score released today showed Clinton County with a score of 0.5 an advisory color of Blue. Clinton County’s official advisory level is Yellow due to the requirement of being in an improved status for two consecutive weeks.

Clinton County had 92 new cases per 100,000 residents – a score of 1 – and a 7-day positivity rate of 3.04% – a score of 0. The ISDH utilized the results of 5/3/2021, 11:59 p.m. for the purpose of calculating the weekly County Metrics.

The ISDH shows a total of 9,971 Clinton County residents have received the first of a two-dose vaccination series (an increase of 51 over the previous day) and 8,359 are fully vaccinated (an increase of 362 over the previous day) with 449 Clinton County residents receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a single-dose vaccine. Statewide, 2,389,057 Hoosiers have received the first of a two-dose vaccination series, 2,006,049 are fully vaccinated with 152,001 from the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as of 5/5/2021 at 5:00 a.m.
