INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced today, Friday, January 1, 2021, Clinton County recorded 1 new death related to COVID-19 and 36 new residents tested positive for COVID-19, 3,240 residents in total have tested positive for COVID-19. There are now 35 deaths related to COVID-19 in Clinton County. At least 39,454 total tests have been administered to residents of Clinton County, of which 15,660 have been unique tests as reported by the ISDH.
The death is reported to have occurred on Sunday, December 27, 2020.
The rolling 7-day positivity rate of unique individuals for Clinton County is 28.3% as of December 25, 2020. The State of Indiana as a whole is 24.1%.
The rolling 7-day positivity rate of all tests for Clinton County is 13.8% as of December 25, 2020. The State of Indiana as a whole is 14.3%.
Additionally, the ISDH announced that 6,407 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and private laboratories. That brings to 517,773 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.
A total of 8,016 Hoosiers have died to date. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.
To date, 2,649,964 unique tests have been administrated on Hoosiers and reported to ISDH, up from 2,636,695 on Thursday.
The Regenstrief Institute released updated hospitalization data as of December 31, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. for Clinton County. Data are unique individuals and cumulative.

The COVID testing site at County Fairgrounds will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day. The Optum testing clinic will only be open 8-1 pm on Christmas Eve, the Health Department clinic will be open 12:00 – 4 pm on Christmas Eve.
The Clinton County Health Department currently has two (2) testing sites operating at the fairgrounds; Optum and the ISDH Community Test Site both inside the Edward Jones Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds located at 1701 S Jackson St, Frankfort, IN.
Optum runs from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday (not open on holidays) and the ISDH Community Test Site runs from 12 noon to 6 pm Monday through Friday.
The Optum testing site breaks for lunch from 12 noon to 12:30 pm each day with an afternoon break from 3 pm to 3:30m. There are NO appts scheduled for Optum during 12-12:30 or 3-3:30 pm for this site and no walk-ins taken during those break times.
